In other words, I always thought being from the U.S. that the 60’s blues guitar uprising from say 1965 to 1969 in London etc., was a giant musical event in which our country followed! 1st it was The Beatles, The Stones etc but what I’m referring to is the still to this day popular album by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Featuring Eric Clapton. You know, the cover has Clapton reading The Beano magazine! That single album is still listened to and talked about and even taught here! All our famous guitarists still swear by it! Clapton took BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters and way back to Robt. Johnson and took those basic riffs and added so much fire to it all! Clapton’s genius I guess! He still says he’s #1 a blues man so! The latest phenom from The Isles is Gary Moore from Scotland or Ireland, I’m not sure which? He’s always been 1 of my fav’s since he hit it big in say, 1983 then in approx 1990, Still Got the Blues and all his Live albums! And Mick Taylor etc You Brits had em all!
Theres still plenty of life in the blues over here: Walter Trout, Papa George, The Hamsters, Storm Warning, Mick Pini, Dr Feelgood etc etc some of the best live music you will see
