So i thought i’d post a little bit of blues, cause this is where it all started. Elmore James was an immensely talented guy, that’s why he influenced several generations of guitarists and he is still is a reference point today. Hope you enjoy it!

I believe this song actually predates Elmore James, even though Elmore James created a better well known version.
The original line was “I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom.”
Not that I am saying you were thinking it is a sexual innuendo, but I am sure some did. The broom is life and it is full of stuff that needs to get dusted off. I believe the song was about a man (the singer) wondering where his woman is and suspecting/knowning that she is messing around on him, so in the morning, he’ll dust off his broom as in, drop her from his life, leave her, never come back, etc, etc. Much like the cliche, “cleaning out my closet” or “burning the bridge.”
I hope that makes sense.
